Retro Futuristic Pixel Font "Transaction"

Description

Transaction is a pixel font inspired by the 1970s vision of futurism. This vision was conveyed through advertisements for games and consumer electronics from the pong era and heavily relied on MICR-styled fonts. 

Initially designed for secure check processing in the banking industry, MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) evolved into an emblem of futurism. The Transaction font recreates the overall tech and squareish aesthetic of a MICR font at pixel level.

Font details

Each glyph was made inside a 16x16 px square with an ascender of 14 pixels over baseline and a descender of 2 pixels under baseline. 

The Transaction font was made using Aseprite, Inkscape and Fontforge.

Usage

To ensure a pixel perfect aspect when using this font on Photoshop (or other software), and because this font's base size is 16 pixels, make sure to:

• Set the font size to a multiple of 16px
• If applicable:
  • Turn off any form of anti-aliasing/filtering mode
  • Set kerning mode to metric
  • Set tracking to zero

Contents

The downloadable zip archive contains the Transaction font files in .ttf and .otf along with a folders all glyphs in individual .svg files, and a license granting you the right to use this font according to the terms of use.

The Transaction font is licensed for personal and commercial use. 

You can use, study and modify the Transaction font for commercial or non-commercial works of yours. You can not distribute or sell this font as is or without any substantial modifications to it.
