INTERGLOT Pixel Font

A font for machines

Each glyph is a 1 pixel wide by 8 pixel high rectangle with pixels either empty or filled according to the binary code of ASCII printable characters. The bottom pixel is always empty.

Ideation

I needed a font for a short story set in an alternative future in which radioactive waste and derelict robots created during our early digital era are the only vestiges of humankind. INTERGLOT, a global automation and information system designed by humans before going extinct, would slowly be adopted as the language of robots over the course of millennia, as they fulfill the timeless task they've been entrusted with: burying and monitoring radioactive waste.

Overall, INTERGLOT should convey an 80s futurism, techno-industrial feeling. You are welcome to use it however you want in your own games, stories, artworks, overlays, or to create interesting patterns like static noise, digital camouflage.
